    TREADWHEEL CRANE (2015)

Throughout history the quarter of Sint-Andries has always been cultural diverse. Even nowadays Sint-Andries breaths authenticity, though in a more contemporary version. Parochie van Miserie brings together groups from various cultural backgrounds to create a unique community-art based project.

The community centre and theatre group CoStA, Betonne Jeugd and Rooftoptiger worked together to build a large treadwheel crane. Local inhabitants and youngsters of Sint-Andries joined and contributed to building the crane. The treadwheel crane was finished in Ocotber 2015. Escorted by a large procession throughout the city centre of Antwerpen it finally found its last resting place in the shadow of the museum MAS.
